Many of Wales' leading transport professionals gathered for the annual CILT Cymru-Wales National Transport Awards in Cardiff on Friday 22 June.
Celebrating their 10th anniversary, the 2012 Awards from The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in the UK (CILT) saw some of the best and brightest of Wales' transport professionals receive one of the prestigious awards at the ceremony, held for the second time at Cardiff City Hall.

One final award, for her outstanding support for the work of CILT, went to Institute Board member and popular former Regional Officer Margaret Everson FCILT. This was doubly deserved as Margaret has been one of the main organisers of the Awards since their inception.
Richard Brown CBE FCILT, Chairman of Eurostar, a former President of CILT, and Ambassador for CILT's Rail Professional Sector, was guest speaker. In this Olympic Games year - with the first football event taking place in Cardiff, and as Wales looks forward to electrification of the rail line to London - Richard said that the profile and challenge of a career in transport in Wales make it uniquely rewarding today.
Over the past decade, the event has become an annual fixture in the transport calendar. Major sponsors this year were ABP South Wales, First UK Bus Division and the University of Glamorgan.
