Supply chain solutions provider SBS enhances US structure

Supply chain solutions provider SBS Worldwide is restructuring its US business to drive enhanced flexibility and bespoke services at a regional level.

The new structure is designed to ensure that SBS is able to enhance the personal sales and operational service it is known for at a regional level, while also utilising the group's ability to offer the latest in supply chain software tailored to specific industry verticals.

As a result of the change, SBS Worldwide's US business will be initially focused on four key regions - North East, Mid-West, South East and West.

Previously, operations and sales strategies were developed and controlled nationally and then implemented by individual offices.

Now, an overall US structure will be created to oversee sales and operations, with the four regions developing their own local expertise.

SBS Worldwide Managing Director USA Lars Kloch says: "This positive structural change will allow our regions to develop industry vertical and local knowledge backed up by the buying power and supply chain solutions of the larger SBS Group.

"The move encourages the entrepreneurial outlook of both our operational and sales personnel in each of the regions and the flexible and bespoke level of service customers in different areas of the country require."

To support the new structure, Regional Vice Presidents for Business Development and also Operations will be appointed to oversee business at a regional level.

A central team of operations, HR, finance and IT are already in the process of being established to oversee the national structure.

This includes the appointment of Christian Marz as Director of Operations USA and Jim Frentheway as Human Resources Director USA. The overall US operation is led by USA Managing Director Lars Kloch.
