Substantial cost savings and quicker, more flexible deliveries are the order of the day at vending specialist Snacktime UK after the firm acquired three new PowerMate LE1 stairclimbers from Stanley Handling.
Needing to deliver and install large vending machines to commercial, industrial and public sector customers, the firm was considering the use of larger vehicles fitted with tail lifts. Stanley Handling, whose lighter Sprinter stairclimber Snacktime already operated, suggested a simpler alternative; the heavy duty PowerMate.
The LE1, shown here in Stanley Handling's training room, offers a 318kg load capacity in a robust aluminium frame and can easily negotiate the steps, thresholds and stairs encountered in daily deliveries whilst a range of optional extras add even more flexibility.
Crucially though, a key function of PowerMate is vehicle loading. Designed to load and unload goods vehicles with a load height of up to 800mm, the new units meet both on-site handling and vehicle loading requirements at a substantially lower cost than had been anticipated. PowerMate has also enabled Snacktime to initiate one man deliveries, creating further cost savings and making it a veritable 'extra man'.
Snacktime UK have some 8000 machines installed nationwide and include Matalan, Argos, Homebase and Currys amongst their clients.
