In Northern Ireland, Pallet Recovery Services and their new prestigious packaging division, the Antrim Box Company, turned to SmartPly to answer their specific material needs.
Based in Islandmagee, Co. Antrim, Pallet Recovery Services has successfully serviced the industry for 15 years supplying new and used pallets. In 2006, as part of planned expansion, the company became a major manufacturer of standard and bespoke packaging and launched the Antrim Box Company ABC. General manager Michael Campbell says, Before we started the Antrim Box Company we reviewed how traditional packaging was manufactured. We did not want to buy product that had been shipped halfway around the world and because of customer demand, we could not afford to use sheet material which had no environmental certification. SmartPly OSB was the obvious answer. It's FSC certified, competitively priced, weather resistant, and is manufactured in Ireland from Irish wood by an Irish company. The consistency of the product is excellent, and with SmartPly we can provide our customers with as many details about their packaging as they could possibly want.
Unlike other packaging companies, ABC offers AutoCAD design on bespoke pallets and crates for specialised or unique cargo, and provides solutions for a range of customers, from precise dimensions and unusual shapes for museums to unique shipping storage solutions for highly skilled engineering companies. ABC also offers an ISPM 15 service (the international standard of treatment for all forms of wood-based packaging) for goods being exported, by heat treating in an on-site kiln using the latest technology. As part of a planned growth programme, investments have also been made in new and modern equipment allowing faster and more efficient production.
