A-Plant’s Accommodation Division has invested nearly £2 million with Genquip Groundhog to renew the company’s fleet of static and mobile welfare units.

A total of 84 Genquip Groundhog units have been purchased by A-Plant in this latest tranche of investment for the company’s Accommodation Division, of which a number of units have been placed on immediate hire to provide welfare facilities for operatives working on ‘smart motorway’ schemes to upgrade the M3 and M5 motorways.

A-PlantThe investment in Genquip Groundhog equipment ensures that A-Plant now has one of the most modern national fleets of temporary accommodation across the hire industry, with the broadest spread of units comprising static, mobile and environmentally friendly units.

Ian Needham, A-Plant’s Director of Accommodation said: “Over the last two years, we have invested almost £5 million with Genquip Groundhog as part of a major investment and enhancement programme for our accommodation fleet. The latest order ranges from mobile units which are easily towed, secured, manoeuvred on-site and accommodate up to six people, to the very latest in environmentally friendly and sustainable temporary accommodation. There is tremendous demand for the new units and we are delighted that many of these have gone straight out on hire for contracts involving upgrades to the motorway network.”

Included in the Genquip Groundhog order are a number of eco-friendly static welfare units which have the optimum ‘A’ Energy Performance Asset rating, providing energy efficient site accommodation with high specification features such as full flush toilets, double glazing, extra insulation and significantly reduced carbon dioxide emissions.
