Pall-Ex, the leading palletised freight distribution network, is implementing improved scanning capabilities.
Building on the already high pallet scanning figures - over 99% - the Leicestershire-based company has begun to roll out further improvements to its infrastructure.
Deploying Honeywell Dolphin 7600 scanners at all of its Members depots, the network will further enhance its ability to pass both scanning and image data between its Members and their customers.
Pall-Ex It Director Sean Sherwin-Smith outlined the benefits this enhancement will bring.
He said: "The 7600's are extremely rugged which is essential in a busy warehouse environment and just as important is the software that is running.
"We have worked closely with our partner Codeway to develop a solution that not only enables our Members to capture inbound and outbound movements of pallets in a more efficient manor but also employs a dynamic measurement tool to ensure our customers are billed correctly."
Several of the Pall-Ex Members have trailed the units and software for several months with positive results.
Pall-Ex Member and Depot Principle Pete Lambert at West Yorkshire based ADD Express said: "The new units have performed exceptionally and make the job of scanning pallets quick and easy.
"The addition of the measuring tool on the scanner will also really streamline the speed at which we can process pallets passing through the depots."
