Open Date Equipment, one of the few companies which specialise in coding and marking, will demonstrate its expertise across the range of thermal transfer, inkjet and hot foil coding on stand F03. In particular the latest version of the company's flagship thermal transfer coder, the Thermocode iQ, which has been upgraded to include several new features, will be on show.
Commenting on the latest iQ model Open Date's General Manager, Gary Cowlard said, "We have undertaken a process of continuous improvement on our top of the range thermal transfer coder since it was successfully launched in 2011. We have listened to customer feedback and come up with various developments to make it even more 'state-of-the-art, without extra cost." The iQ now features enhanced software and controls to improve performance, flexibility and reliability which were already above industry standards.
Also being exhibited are examples from the AutoPilot® inkjet range from US specialists Squid Ink Manufacturing of Minnesota. AutoPilot® is an entry-level machine, printing high-resolution characters on porous and non-porous materials. It uses Piezo impulse printhead technology producing text up to 18mm high, or logos at 180 dpi. The system can print scannable bar codes as standard and offers multiple formats.
Additionally, the company's well-established Thermocode range of thermal transfer printers will be demonstrated. The Thermocode Series 2 online thermal printer comes in both intermittent and continuous versions and is compatible with most types of packaging and labelling machines.
The Thermocode 53E is the range's 'entry level' machine and is both easy to operate and maintain.
Open Date is well known for its expertise in Hot Foil coding, built up over 35 years of development.
Recently there has been renewed interest in this type of coding due to the fact no ink is required in the process. The company's most recent offering is the E-Coder which is suitable for overprint batch and lot numbers, expiry dates, use by dates and prices onto flexible materials - including films, labels and cartons.
The company has built on its manufacturing experience to ensure it can incorporate its printers onto almost any packaging and labelling machine and supplies a complete range of standard mounts and frames. Also it can design bespoke formats to meet individual requirements.
A complete range of inks, types, dies, foils and ribbons can be supplied to suit any make and model of coder at competitive prices and with speedy delivery.
Open Date personnel will be on hand throughout the show to help with your enquiries.
