Norbert Dentressangle has secured a new contract with J.K.H. Drainage, a leading manufacturer of steel reinforced pre-cast concrete products.
J.K.H. was formed in 1969 to serve the special requirements of the agricultural industry. Today, its product range has been expanded and tailored to suit the leisure, housing, public service and telecommunications industries. Alongside its core business, which includes drainage for sports-field installers and civil engineering projects, the company also specialises in the manufacture of moulded G.R.C. (Glass Reinforced Cement) products.
J.K.H. has always focussed on providing high quality and value for money products that are delivered to its customers' specifications throughout the UK. To ensure it continues to do so in a tough economic climate, the manufacturer turned to Norbert Dentressangle's specialist shared-user pallet network to help reduce its supply chain costs by switching to consolidated consignments.
The transport solution involves collections being made from the J.K.H's prime industrial warehouse located in Mildenhall, Suffolk. Orders are then processed and consolidated, then trunked overnight to Norbert Dentressangle's regional depots for final delivery. Customers include Balfour Beatty, Travis Perkins, Blaze Construction, Spencer Builders, Crest Nicholson, Norfolk Homes and Ashbridge Construction.
Paul Minor, Transport Manager at J.K.H. Drainage, explained: "We have a long held commitment to our customers to provide quality products at low prices, which is particularly important in the current climate with rising industry costs.
"Norbert Dentressangle recognised the values our company has established itself on and worked in partnership with us to develop a reliable and cost-effective solution to support our distribution service."
J.K.H is also benefiting from access to the bespoke SHARP (Shipment Handling and Reporting Program) technology provided by Norbert Dentressangle. The integrated online system enables the company to place orders electronically, which are scanned and tracked in real time to improve operational efficiency and service levels.
