Whale Tankers is using its presence at this year's Commercial Vehicle Show (Stand 4H60, Hall 4 NEC Birmingham) to highlight the breadth of its product range - all designed to deliver performance, safety and value, whatever the size of the job in hand.
The CityWhale - a new range of lightweight vehicles designed for city jetting and suction operation - makes its debut at the show. The new range will be available in three versions - the Micro (3.2-3.5t), the Midi (3.5-4.5t) and the Major (7.5t) - with both the Micro and Midi models breaking cover at the show - one featured on the Whale Tankers stand and one by the front entrance to the show (see separate press release for full range details).
The new CityWhale range joins the already well established WhaleCompact range - an example of which is also on display. This van mounted jetting unit is currently available on VW Transporter, Mercedes Vito, Ford Transit, Renault Traffic and Toyota Hiace chassis, but is also available as a free standing unit, as displayed on the show stand.
The WhaleCompact range features a high pressure triplex pump that delivers a flow and pressure of 72 litres/min at 200bar, with 60 litres/min at 160bar also available as an option. The highly compact unit features a HDPE water tank with a 600 litre capacity, with the hose reel pivoting outside the vehicle through 180 degrees, providing all round operational flexibility for drains up to 500mm
The lightweight design does not compromise on quality - the van pack features a 33KW Kubota engine with electric and keyless start and, like the new CityWhale range, features the Whale Radio Remote Control system.
The Whale Medium Volume Combination (MVC) is the workhorse of many a liquid waste tanker fleet and the Euro 6 vehicle on the show stand, destined for service with TIP, demonstrates the performance, environmental and health and safety features that make the Whale MVC class of 2014 a true thoroughbred. In particular, the show vehicle has been fitted with Whale's new ESN Environmental Package (see separate press release for full details).
Showcasing its capabilities at the heavy duty end of the market, the final vehicle on display on the Whale Tankers' CV Stand is a high specification KaiserWhale Continuous Dirty Water Recycler, built on a 32 tonne GVW Volvo FM Euro 5 chassis and shortly about to enter service with Essex-based operator, Flowline.
The KaiserWhale brings together the high performance jetting and vacuum operations with a fully integrated filtration system, providing continuous dirty water recycling - by effectively reusing dirty water for jetting, it maximises time spent working, while minimising time wasted tapping into clean water supplies.
Specifically designed to be a multi-purpose heavy duty contractor's vehicle, the KaiserWhale is an effective, powerful jetter and sewer cleaner that is also available in 16, 18, 26 and 44 tonnes configurations, as well as demountable variants.
The powerful liquid ring vacuum pump - available in a single or double arrangement - mounted inside the tank gives increased efficiency, better cooling and lower noise levels, as well as giving additional frost protection. The high pressure pump has been specifically developed for dirty water recycling and features Rotomax, a unique single self cleaning filter system.
The KaiserWhale has one of the most comprehensive specifications of any vehicle of its type and, thanks to Whale's extensive engineering capability, can be tailored to the specific requirements of operators like Flowline.
"The contrast between the CompactWhale and new CityWhale ranges and the MVC and KaiserWhale vehicles on display at the CV show this year demonstrates our ability to deliver effective, fully compliant solutions across a very broad range of operational requirements," said Whale Tankers' Commercial Director Chris Anderson. "In short, no job is either too big or too small for a Whale".
He added, "Right across our product range customer-focused engineering quality and performance can be found, together with close attention to health and safety compliance and environmental issues. Another common denominator is the complete support proposition - be it training, parts or service - that comes with every product bearing the Whale name."
