The UK logistics sector is preparing to gather in Birmingham as Multimodal 2026 opens at the NEC later this month.
The freight transport, logistics and supply chain management exhibition will take place from 30 June to 2 July 2026.
Organisers say the event will be the biggest edition yet, following a record-breaking 2025 show which saw visitor numbers rise by 4%.
Multimodal 2026 will also serve as the flagship event of UK Logistics Week 2026, bringing together businesses and professionals from across the freight, transport, warehousing and supply chain sectors.
The three-day exhibition will feature an exhibitor hall showcasing freight, logistics and supply chain businesses across all transport modes and more than 15 industry sectors.
It will also include five conference theatres, with sessions covering topics such as AI in logistics, net zero, customs compliance, supply chain resilience and mental wellbeing.
A new web-based event app will also be available for attendees, offering live updates, conference schedules, an exhibitor directory, calendar integration and direct message requests.
Networking will form a key part of the event, with the Multimodal Mixer drinks reception open to all attendees in the main hall on Wednesday.
The Multimodal Awards will take place on the evening of 30 June at The Vox Conference Centre.
The ceremony will be hosted by comedian Rory Bremner and followed by the first Awards After Show Party.
More than 80 conference sessions are scheduled across the event, with speakers from major organisations in logistics, freight, ports, rail, highways and trade.
Confirmed speakers include John Trenchard, vice president of sustainable international supply chains at DP World, who will discuss the future of sustainable logistics.
Kathryn Oldale, head of strategy at DB Cargo, will speak on government plans for UK railways and the impact on freight and logistics.
Other speakers include Caroline Rowden, customs practice lead at the Chartered Institute of Export & International Trade, who will cover trade volatility and compliance.
Peter Roberts, freight commercial strategy director at LeShuttle Freight, will discuss zero-emission strategies in long-haul logistics.
Andrew Page-Dove, director of operational control at National Highways, will speak on AI adoption, labour shortages and economic uncertainty.
Laurent Devulder, chief executive of the Port of Boulogne Calais, will also take part, focusing on supply chain resilience and the ABCD axis.
The final day of Multimodal 2026 will focus on the next generation of logistics workers.
School and college students will tour the exhibition floor as part of a skills initiative designed to promote careers in the sector.
The programme will include interactive workshops, talks from apprentices and graduates, employer-led sessions and access to HR professionals.
Participating organisations include Logistics UK, BIFA, UKWA, CILT and the Cold Chain Federation.
Multimodal 2026 forms part of UK Logistics Week, which will also include Warehouse, Yard and eDX at the NEC Birmingham, alongside The Road Transport Expo at NAEC Stoneleigh.
Organisers say the aim is to bring the UK logistics community together across multiple events and locations.
Robert Jervis, Multimodal show director, said: “Multimodal 2026 is the must-attend event for anyone working in freight, logistics and supply chain.”
He added: “Three days, five conference theatres, hundreds of exhibitors, world-class networking - and it’s completely free to attend.”
Mr Jervis said those planning to attend should register and “make sure you’re in the room where the industry’s most important conversations are happening.”
Registration for Multimodal 2026 is free.
