One of the UK's leading lifting services provider - Loughborough-based Morris Material Handling - has received further recognition for its work within the field of health and safety having been awarded SAFEcontractor accreditation.
Serving to recognise high standards of health and safety practice amongst UK contractors, the award has been granted to Morris Material Handling for services relating to the servicing, repair and inspection of lifting equipment. The award was made to Morris following an extensive period of assessment of the company's health and safety documentation that is compared to the required SAFEcontractor Charter Standards before accreditation can be obtained.

Instigated by the information services division of National Britannia Limited, the SAFEcontractor scheme serves to simplify the process of demonstrating that accredited companies have the correct health and safety policies and procedures in place. Indeed accreditation involves the assessment of some 21 major health and safety topics such as: policy statements, procedures and material statements, accident history, COSHH assessments, health & safety training, risk assessments, personal protective equipment and first aid and accident reporting.
All organisations certified under the SAFEcontractor accreditation scheme are also subject to an annual and ongoing reassessment process.
