Logistics provider Kewill announce release 3.0 of Kewill Forwarding

Kewill (LSE: KWL), a leading provider of solutions that simplify global trade and logistics, today announced the general availability of Release 3.0 of Kewill Forwarding, the global, integrated freight forwarding solution widely deployed internationally by leading freight forwarders to manage their multimodal logistics requirements.

The latest enhancements include a significantly expanded Global Shipment Module, which now provides shipment visibility from the point of creation right through to completion, and ensures shipment data is visible throughout the shipment life cycle. With permission, the Overseas Agent and Handling Agent can use the Global Shipment Module to check all potential inbound shipments as soon as a booking is created at the Origin office, and the Controlling and Offshore offices can check all relevant shipment data.

Ritu Rooney, Global Product Manager for Kewill Forwarding, said, "The new release delivers a series of operational improvements, providing additional efficiency and more comprehensive control mechanisms for the Global Shipment process, building on the existing end-to-end shipment processing. "

"These developments add to the already rich functionality of Kewill Forwarding, which includes; multi lingual/multi currency, a comprehensive Job Costing and Profit Sharing module and a collaborative Web Portal allowing online tracking and booking and management of purchase orders and inventory. We also provide direct integration with other Kewill applications including the Kewill Compliance Suite, in addition to full integration with a wide range of best-of-breed systems."

Kewill Forwarding customers dealing with shipments to the USA will also benefit from a simplified process which provides an automated link to the United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP), via a Kewill portal, using the data already held within the system to process the mandatory Import Security Filing (ISF), and automatically record the reference number returned.

Further features of the new release include enhancements to Triangle Shipment Processing, the addition of automated and fully integrated eDoc facilities and the introduction of an improved Pre-Alert process. The system now provides a customer-defined workflow for Pre-Alerts, which enables the validation of shipment data based on pre-set rules, and includes an option to reject/re-send, streamlining the process of transferring user-defined information from export to import where required, reducing processing costs and minimising the margin for error.

Evan Puzey, Chief Marketing Officer, Kewill, commented, "Kewill Forwarding is the market leading solution for medium to large Forwarders globally and the new release will further enhance its position. Release 3.0 delivers wide-reaching benefits that will further simplify the global shipment process for our customers worldwide, allowing them to continue to develop the range of services they offer to their own customers, using the blend of global and local configurations that best fits their requirements."
