Logistics provider Geodis Calberson appointed by LSA to handle its European distribution

Walk into any of the high quality stores in the major cities in the UK and you will find LSA handmade glass and porcelain tableware products established as one of the most popular luxury brands available.

Indeed stockists in this country include Harrods, Selfridges, John Lewis, Conran Shop, Fenwick's, Liberty and the House of Fraser to name but a few of the top store names who sell LSA products.

LSA's focus has always been on the imaginative and contemporary with their Creative Director, Monika Lubkowska-Jonas, designing products for eating and drinking and enhancing interiors. Whilst LSA are most famous for their handmade glass, their porcelain tableware is also a key part of their development.

New product collections are launched in January and in the middle of the year and normally appear in shops in early Spring and from mid year.

Over the years LSA has developed a network of retailers stocking its products and today the LSA brand is sold in many places worldwide from design shops to neighbourhood gift shops.

Geodis Calberson, the UK division of the international logistics provider France-based Geodis, were appointed by LSA to handle its European distribution in December last year as LSA's logistics requirements had outgrown the capability of its previous freight forwarder.

Since then Geodis Calberson has succeeded in cutting transit times by half to the same destinations as the previous freight forwarder, from five to six days to an average delivery time of two to three days.

The LSA products are shipped through Geodis Calberson's Eurofirst daily pallet distribution service to 10 major European countries with key markets in France, Spain, Portugal, Italy and Germany and to all UK stores within the UK - through a next day pallet service. All this with one daily collection.

LSA are quite obviously delighted with the major improvement in reducing transit times. Jean-Marc Knoll, European Sales Manager of LSA commented "When our logistical requirements began to exceed the capability of our previous freight forwarder, we looked for an established company with an excellent reputation to offer us an extensive transport network covering 10 European countries at competitive prices. Christian Weber of Geodis was able to put together a comprehensive and uncomplicated haulage package perfectly adapted to our needs, and we have not looked back.

"As a result of working with Geodis, we are now able to offer a more frequent, reliable and faster service to our 1,500 customers across 10 European countries. Being able to concentrate on sales without having to worry about our logistical solutions has enabled us to stay ahead of our competitors. Geodis' professional approach and excellent communication skills have enabled us to deal with any contentious issues rapidly and efficiently and, quite frankly, they are a pleasure to work with. We are indebted to Christian and the Geodis team for understanding our needs and working to them'
