In the company's 10th anniversary year, KNAPP UK Ltd is opening a brand-new service centre. Located in Long Crendon, Buckinghamshire, the new facility is designed to meet the needs of KNAPP's burgeoning service operations.
During its 10 years of business in Britain, KNAPP UK Ltd has grown at an incredible pace. "From its beginning as a one-man sales operation," explains Mike Cogger, Managing Director, "the company has grown to encompass employees in sales, sales support, service and administrative roles, with almost 50 employees expected to be working in the UK by the end of this year. Our growth here in the UK has mirrored that of the KNAPP Group as a whole during the past few years: KNAPP Logistik Automation GmbH now has some 1,300 employees worldwide, turnover of around 200 million Euros and over a dozen international offices."
Over the last 10 years, KNAPP UK Ltd has installed some 55 handling solutions. It is the growing number of large, automated systems in the UK and Ireland that require specialist maintenance that has led the company to open these new premises. Officially on stream from October, the new site will – during the next 12 months – become a comprehensive service centre for the maintenance, repair, expansion and upgrading of automated handling systems, also incorporating a workshop and a parts refurbishing facility. The site also features modern office, meeting and presentation facilities.
Says David James, Business Development Director, "Being situated midway between Oxford and Aylesbury and close to the M40, the new service centre at Long Crendon is ideally located to provide rapid support to existing and new customers nationwide."
