JNS Construction, a specialist in insurance restoration work, has deployed a high-tech telematics system to provide real time management intelligence to the day to day running of the business. The live vehicle tracking and driver monitoring system, supplied by Kinesis, is helping JNS reduce administration and save money whilst improving the workforce’s health and safety and asset security. A family owned business specialising in fire and flood restoration, JNS Construction works with both insurers and householders to expertly rebuild, repair and restore a property back to its pre-loss condition. JNS operates a mixed fleet of vans, which are home based, and travel around Yorkshire to commercial and domestic premises damaged by fire and flood as well as new builds and home improvement projects. An existing user of vehicle tracking, JNS needed to replace an out dated system that had started to underperform resulting in costly call out fees, so began researching vehicle tracking solutions online. “Firstly, and potentially most important in such a competitive market, every communication I have had with Kinesis has been pleasant, genuine and effective,” commented Alison Wilson. “From the first call following a tentative visit to a tracker comparison site, through installation and ongoing support, Kinesis is a friendly company that gets the job done!” “Not only is Kinesis cheaper than our previous solution it delivers so much more. We are already realising tangible cost savings together with less measurable benefits such as improved welfare for our drivers and peace of mind for a vehicle security,” she continued. JNS Construction uses the GPS derived vehicle locations, displayed in real time against an easy to interpret map screen, to validate staff work sheets and inform invoicing. The live tracking can also be used to check lone workers have returned safely from a job and that vehicles are where they should be at all times including out of hours. Kinesis also provides the JNS management driver performance data, including speeding, harsh braking and accelerating and idling. This data can be used to drive improvements in driver behaviour for health and safety monitoring and to benefit other road users. The information can also be used to contribute to a further reduction in both costs and environmental emissions. “The Kinesis app is really easy to use,” concluded Wilson. “With just a few clicks I can see where each vehicle is on the map or I can even click through to Google Street View and see the actual road or property.”
