In night parts distribution company, ByBox, acquires national Technical Courier Company Newcotech

ByBox Field Support, the leading in-night parts distribution company has further expanded its offering through the acquisition of the national Technical Courier Company, Newcotech.

ByBox has been working with Newcotech for the past 12 months providing Technical Courier services coupled with ByBox Distribution to a number of its current customers.

Newcotech is well known within the services industry, offering unrivalled service levels to customers such as Motorola, Asda, and Marks & Spencer by providing an onsite service for the replacement of a range of electronic and IT equipment.

This acquisition is further expanding ByBox' service offering; by now being able to offer the total supply chain package starting with inventory management, through to distribution, and finally managing the returns and repairs.

With access to over 70 field service technicians around the UK, ByBox will be able to offer a two, four, eight hour or next business day call to fix allowing for simple swap outs, collections and scripted fix of machines. With 16 Distribution Centres and 29 Forward Stock Locations around the UK, a technician is on standby at each location to provide rapid call outs.

One of the key benefits of the service is the integration with ByBox' existing software platform, Thinventory™. Thinventory™ will manage the complete process from the swap out, the delivery, the repair and the return to good stock over a web based platform which has the benefits of providing managers with real time proof of delivery (POD) data and electronic POD updates via email. The service also allows for the dynamic re-routing of return parts to a nominated repair vendor or directly to the ByBox Repair Centre at the Coventry central hub.

This service, now branded ByBox SwitchIT is part of a wider service offering by ByBox which includes the FixIt service; a dedicated in-house repair centre at the Coventry hub for more intrusive repairs of items in the IT, Epos, Computing and Vending sectors. The complete service offering, Switch&Fix encapsulates the entire return-repair process by carrying out low level swaps, scripted repairs and collections through to repair at the in house repair centre with the fixed item put back into good stock. All stages being tracked and managed by Thinventory.

Mark Garritt, Managing Director, ByBox commented, "We have been working closely with Newcotech over the last 12 months to provide infrastructure support. Their passion for delivering high levels of customer service coupled with an eye for detail makes them an ideal cultural fit with ByBox.

"This will be the first of many acquisitions in the technical service, break-fix and repair sectors as we continuously strive to deliver an innovative range of supply chain solutions for our customers with the aim of further enhancing the business offering to their customers.

"We do not however, intend to deal directly with the end user as that is what our customers do. We are essentially here to support and provide them with a cost effective platform at a standard variable cost which can only be of benefit," he added.
