IMS Presents Creusabro Wear Resistant Steels at Materials Handling Engineers Association BULK 2010

Nick Taylor, Business Development Manager for IMS UK Limited, gave a presentation at the recent Materials Handling Engineers Association (MHEA) BULK 2010 Technical Awareness Seminar in Blackpool. The presentation highlighted the features and benefits of the CREUSABRO range of wear resistant steels, used widely across Europe and throughout the world to prolong the wear life of products and fabrications used in the quarrying and mining industries for mobile and fixed plant.

CREUSABRO 4800, one of the materials from the CREUSABRO range, is a wear resistant steel used by many equipment OEM's, which combines extreme resistance to abrasion with a high level of toughness and impact resistance. The ability of this grade to work harden offers an increase of up to and above 50% longer wear life, depending on application, compared to conventional 400 and 450 HBW materials. It also works at much higher temperatures than standard abrasion steels, continuously at 450⁰C without losing significant hardness or abrasion resistance.
