PalletFORCE has doubled its current capacity to 12,000 pallet spaces following the acquisition of two warehouses adjacent to its existing central hub in Lichfield, Staffordshire.
The new facilities will provide an additional 6,000 pallet spaces (3,000 in each warehouse) and offer a further 100,000 sq. ft. of floor space, bringing the total size of PalletFORCE's site to 220,000 sq. ft. The increased warehouse capacity will allow up to 300 double-decked articulated trucks to be off-loaded and loaded per night.
This major expansion comes just 18 months after PalletFORCE doubled capacity on site at the end of 2003 and will enable the network to meet the demands of its continued rapid growth. With the additional warehouse facilities coming on stream this year, PalletFORCE will have the central hub capacity to accommodate 150% growth.
The first warehouse will be fully operational in July and the second facility will be up and running by October.
Thanks to this consistent success, PalletFORCE currently offers a network of 85 strategically-located membership depots, more than 3,000 vehicles and over 3 million sq.ft. of warehousing.
Mick Scarlett, chief executive of PalletFORCE said, "Our commitment to quality and customer service is the driving force behind our success, and this significant investment in our central hub is designed to provide the extensive new facilities required to maintain this level of expansion."
