Driver recruitment firm Transline selects Stacy Goodenough to spearhead firm's push South

Since 1991, driver recruitment firm, Transline has seen continual growth in the North, Scotland and the Midlands through premium levels of service and an enviable reputation within the transport logistics industry. Favouring an on-site service, its flexible approach combines well with extremely high training standards to provide the customer with a service that cannot be beaten.

Following the signing of its first South East contract at Wincanton Comet in Harlow, the Halifax-based recruiter has expanded further into the lucrative region with a Master Vendor contract to provide Wincanton Sainsburys at Feltham with its full driver requirements. Selected to spearhead the move and manage Transline's new on-site office is experienced recruitment professional, Stacy Goodenough.

Originally from Birmingham, Stacy, 25, moved to London in 2002 to pursue a career as Manager of a housing maintenance company, where she worked for 3 years before beginning her recruitment career with a leading London firm. After 2 years managing a variety of clients at a recruitment agency she was ready for a fresh challenge and discovered just that one weekend whilst trawling the internet.

"I stumbled upon the Transline advert by chance but it drew me in with the opportunity to work with a reputable company and build solid relationships with a single client. I decided to apply and fortunately I got the job. I now plan to use my established contacts in driver recruitment and those of my Transline colleagues to ensure the drivers we provide are of the highest standard and the client is 100% happy."

Stacy is now solely responsible for recruiting and managing all of Sainsburys Feltham's driver needs including the management of second tier drivers from rival agencies. At its peak she will need to provide 40 drivers a day, making it one of Transline's biggest UK contracts. Never before has Wincanton awarded a Master Vendor contract to a recruitment firm at Feltham so there is a lot riding on someone so new to the company.

But Stacy is not fazed by the job in hand and is already building up her pool of Transline-approved drivers. "It's been hectic so far but I didn't expect anything less from a new operation," said Stacy. "I've actually enjoyed the pressure because it's enabled me to feel a part of Transline very quickly. From the drivers to the directors, everyone has been really supportive."

Transline Director, Paul Beasley, is aware of the challenges Stacy will face but is confident she will rise to them. He added: "Stacy was the outstanding candidate at interview showing a great deal of character and determination. Our On-site Managers need to work hard and build good relationships with the client's Site Managers. Stacy has all the attributes to do just that and we're very happy to have her on board."
