Nottingham-based chemical software providers, Safeware Quasar Ltd, held their fourth annual regulatory conference on March 4th Nottingham, playing host to an audience of a size never before experienced at the event.
The conference, 'Countdown to December 2010' held at Eastwood Hall, Nottingham, welcomed regulatory experts and specialists for an in-depth discussion regarding the raft of new regulatory requirements due at the end of this year.
Playing host to 115 delegates from 10 different countries, this year's conference had a real international flavour and representatives from chemical companies, formulators, retailers and regulatory consultants enjoyed a very lively and informative day.
The main focus of this year's conference was assessing the impacts for downstream users on SDS's and the associated 'exposure scenarios' that will need to be developed while other sections concentrated on global implementations of GHS/CLP, new Biocidal Product Regulations and the Transportation of Dangerous Goods, as well as the major new developments at Safeware Quasar Ltd.
The audience benefited from an impressive compilation of speakers to include an informative talk given by a representative from the UK's competent authority, the Health and Safety Executive, Dr Pierre Cruse. This looked at the enforcement of CLP in the UK and provided an overview of the 3rd edition of the Purple Book and how and when these changes will be adopted in to CLP.
To endorse the already positive reputation Safeware Quasar Ltd enjoys, Alan Lewis, the Group Regulatory Conformance Director of Domino UK, gave a presentation talking about his 20 years of being a customer and how important the software is to ongoing plans to globalise Domino UK's services.
Delegates also enjoyed a fantastic pre-conference dinner the evening before the event which gave everyone a great opportunity to network before the big day.
