Burnt Tree incorporates Seven’s Transcan 2 in all its temperature controlled vehicle fleet

When Burnt Tree announced the launch of its brand-new temperature controlled vehicle rental and contract hire operation ‘Refrigerental’, the national rental company decided to specify the Transcan 2 temperature monitoring system from Seven Telematics as its standard fitment on all its refrigerated vehicles, covering the whole fleet from CDV’s right through to 26tonne multi-temp rigids.

12 months later, Burnt Tree’s Refrigerental business has become an industry-wide success story with the company recently winning the ‘Rental and Contract Hire Company of the Year’ Award at the latest 2014 TCS&D Awards event, held at the National Motorcycle Museum in Warwickshire. As part of this continuing success for Refrigerental, Seven Telematics has played a key role, with the company now becoming the exclusive supplier of temperature monitoring systems to Refrigerental, supplying over 350 Transcan 2 systems to vehicles in the fleet so far.

Commenting on the success of Refrigerental, Mark Howell, Contract Hire and Refrigerental Director at Burnt Tree said, “The last 12 months has been really busy for the whole business, non-stop from the moment we went live with Refrigerental. We felt that there was definitely big potential for a fresh approach to temperature controlled vehicle rental and contract hire and it was imperative that our fleet offering was equipped with the very latest and best equipment possible.”

“It is our belief that the Transcan 2 temperature recorder is a proven and totally reliable piece of kit, recognised as the industry standard for temperature controlled commercial vehicles. This is extremely important to us as, when we supply vehicles to our customers, they are automatically used to the Transcan 2 and its operational features, making familiarity and ease of operation so easy and natural,” added Mark Howell.

The link between Seven Telematics and Refrigerental continues to grow as Refrigerental expands during 2014. Already this year, Burnt Tree has made further significant initial capital investment in new vehicles. Such has been the rapid success of Refrigerental that the company has not only had to purchase additional vehicles to meet current demand, but has now introduced additional refrigerated trucks in new 12t and 15t GVW rental categories not to mention building for new long-term contract hire business on a daily basis.

Naturally, all the new refrigerated vehicles are fitted with Transcan 2 temperature recorders as standard.
