Burdens has been presented with a supply chain award from Optimise JV for providing exceptional levels of service to one of the UK's largest water and wastewater services provider, Thames Water.
Optimise, one of Thames Water's key contractors, maintains infrastructure delivering both clean and waste water across the Thames Valley and North London regions.
For the past eight years Thames Water has outsourced its logistics services to leading distributor of underground drainage and civil engineering Burdens operating from a location in the South East England.
As well as managing the central storage facility at Gatwick, Burdens deliver twice weekly to Tier 1 key contractors stores, Burdens is also responsible for a four hour emergency response service which provides pipes and fittings for mains repairs.
Dave Torr, Contract Manager and Kenny Lewis, Purchasing Manager, were presented with the award by Bob Heathfield, Chairman of the Optimise board.

The awards were held at Norden Farm in Maidenhead on and were attended by staff from Thames Water, Optimise, and other key suppliers involved in the repair and maintenance of London and Thames Valley assets.
Burdens has remained an Optimise Top 25 supplier throughout 2013.
