To support the expansion of its homeware
business in the United Kingdom, multi-channel retailer BHS
has chosen global logistics provider Kuehne Nagel to provide
delivery of furniture to customers' homes.
Kuehne Nagel has over twenty years experience in furniture home
deliveries operating its own shared-user furniture distribution network
supported by highly trained crews and first-class IT systems. Under the
new agreement with BHS, Kuehne Nagel will provide goods receipt
from manufacturers and storage at its shared-user facility at Dove
Valley, Derbyshire, and a "white-glove" delivery and assembly service
direct to customers. On behalf of BHS, Kuehne + Nagel will also
manage call centre activities to handle customer service including
the booking of delivery days and times.
James Irons, BHS' Head of Trading for Homestores said: "For our
home deliveries of furniture we needed a logistics partner that could
offer both the capacity to handle our growing volumes and the highest
standards of customer care. Kuehne Nagel's wealth of expertise in
this area and its ability to provide a nationwide service were also
deciding factors."
Mick Church, Kuehne + Nagel's Business Unit Director for Home
Delivery, comments: "Kuehne + Nagel's specialist teams understand
that with every home delivery we represent our customer. We are
committed to supporting BHS with the highest levels of quality and
innovation at this exciting time in the development of their home
furnishings business."
