There were four power packed & focused sessions over 1 and half days on the industry relevant subjects covering- Changing Business Environment- Need for Innovation; Statutory Compliances & Controls; Enabling e-Freight and The New Horizon- A Modern Age GHA. The subjects touched upon key areas of concern for Airport Cargo Ground Handling Community such as- Benchmark Airport KPIs, Statutory Compliances, Regulations & Customs Processes, e-Freight & the need for Change Management, the new opportunities & threats from e-commerce trade and modern technologies being used like- Drone deliveries, 4D printing amongst others. The sessions proved to be insightful, refreshing and informative with new perspectives being exchanged by leadership representing diverse cargo handling stakeholders.
The CLEAR VIEW summit endeavors to ensure that a collective voice of the industry gets collated and the industry itself can now prepare a charter for enabling “doable” activities so as to provide “practical solutions” to the issues discussed during the Summit.
There was an intense discussion around e-freight & e-AWB, where the leaders agreed that there needs to be a mechanism for looking at 100% e-Freight adoption. The industry leaders also agreed that in order to accelerate worldwide adoption, a regulatory mandate may be the need of the hour.
The CLEAR VIEW ‘Call for Action’ program will ensure making 100% e-Freight adoption a reality at one of the leading Middle Eastern airports.
On the sidelines of CLEAR VIEW Summit, Mr. Sanjiv Edward- Chairman-TIACA said, “CLEAR VIEW has been an enriching experience for me. It’s a well thought and well organized summit focusing on what really needs to be the way forward for air cargo industry. It is always great to meet air cargo fraternity and the experience has really been more than what I had expected; challenges were deliberated and there were some excellent ideas that have come up. But more important was the notion of ‘way forward’- how as an industry we ought to be constantly moving forward. Focused groups that have been formalized will be taking the discussions forward, so I am really keen to be contributing to more of such focused sessions being aimed at bringing in the positive changes in the industry.”
“The round table conference was very nice & well organized and was absolutely an eye opener. There were some topics that were touched upon, which we would not even have dreamt of. I really look forward to another similar conference on other subjects” said, Mr. Norbert Bielderman- MD, (Nigerian Aviation Handling Company) Nahco Aviance Plc.
Speaking on the occasion, Vipul Jain, Chairman - Kale Logistics said, “The energy, enthusiasm and response we got from the industry leaders at the summit were truly overwhelming. CLEAR VIEW summit is a small attempt by us to enable innovation and transformation in this Industry. The next phase of work involves certain identified initiatives where leaders from different stakeholders have volunteered their support to take it forward. The outcome from these will be discussed and shared at the next edition of CLEAR VIEW.”
