Abby Couriers Basildon depot need drivers as contracts expand

The Basildon depot of a courier company is facing major problems recruiting new drivers despite the credit crunch!

Managing Director at Abby Couriers, Mr Mark Giles, said: "Abby Couriers has an established depot in Basildon and during the last month has been trying to recruit 10 more drivers to work from that depot but to date we have had no success.

"We are told that in the current economic climate there are a lot of people out there looking for work but that certainly doesn't seem to be the case here in Basildon.

"Abby Couriers is a well established and reputable company; our drivers earn up to £30,000 a year and uniforms are provided along with training for suitable candidates.

"Drivers need less than six points on their licence and if they have previous multi-drop experience that is a bonus and we can then take them on for an immediate start!

"The work is five days a week with up to 80 drops a day on most routes which makes for a busy day but as our routes are carefully chosen the drivers are not wasting time and fuel unnecessarily between customers.

"We are very keen to hear from anyone interested in joining the Abby Couriers team in Cambridge and more details on the positions available are available from 01268 330330 or email ruth.giles@abbycouriers.com ."
