TDG logistics extends transport contract with Premdor

Premdor UK, a leading producer of internal and external doors, windows and cubicles, has extended its contract with TDG to provide transport throughout mainland UK for a further two years. It moves around 2 million doors each year.

Since 2008, TDG has worked with Premdor creating operational efficiencies. Full loads leave its Barnsley manufacturing site nightly and are taken by road to TDG depots at Mossend, Swindon and Thurrock for cross docking. These are then delivered direct to construction sites, builders' merchants or the end user.

By integrating this transport into the wider TDG network, TDG has been able to use back haul opportunities to save fuel miles, reduce empty running and improve operational efficiency. It consistently achieves 99% on-time, in-full deliveries to site.

Paul Conway, UK & East European logistics manager at Premdor says: "TDG has implemented some very successful cost-down projects and our transport efficiencies have significantly improved. However, what we've been most impressed about is TDG's exceptional levels of service."

Premdor UK operates as part of the Masonite global organisation. Masonite is one of the world's leading joinery manufacturers operating from 55 plants serving clients in over 70 countries worldwide.
