SKF will be demonstrating how solutions from its Material Handling segment helps to improve efficiency for industrial elevator and escalator applications at Interlift 2013; a trade show dedicated to elevator technology.
The working theme of the show is 'From Engineering to Maintenance' and the SKF stand will show a range of offers that enhance the performance of elevator motors and guide rails, escalator turning stations and step chains, as well as services for both applications.
For OEMs, SKF will be showcasing the Bearing Beacon, a piece of 3D modelling software that helps find the best solution for the different types of elevator traction machines (geared and gearless) and their relative bearing arrangement. SKF will also exhibit sealed spherical roller bearings designed to withstand high loads and thus minimise unscheduled stops. SKF deep groove ball bearings with Solid Oil, radial shaft seals and hub bearing units are also included as part an offering that helps OEMs build robust performance into their machines.
The SKF stand will also present a series of aftermarket solutions to minimise maintenance and cut costs for operators, including chain lubrication, point lubricators and condition monitoring.
SKF will also be demonstrating a new bearing for the very first time: the sealed SKF single row angular contact ball bearing The new bearing features two non-contact steel reinforced NBR (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber) seals, and a high performance, long lasting polyurea (GXN) grease as standard. Sealed SKF single row angular contact ball bearings are dimensionally interchangeable with and have the same high load carrying capability as open bearings. And because they are non-contacting, the seals do not generate frictional heat, which enables the bearings to operate at the same high speeds as open bearings.
SKF experts will be on hand to explain the benefits of all these innovations to delegates, using product demonstrations, case studies and presentations.
Interlift 2013, the International Trade Fair for Elevators, Components and Accessories, takes place from 15th-18th October at the Augsburg Trade Fair Centre, Germany. SKF will be in Hall 5 on Stand 511.
