As part of MIQ Logistics' continued investment and development, Rob Bongaerts assumes the responsibility of Vice President and Managing Director EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa).
His appointment highlights the intention of MIQ Logistics to be a recognised leader in global transportation and distribution.
"We have a unique opportunity to capitalise on the growth potential available in today's market, and we are looking forward to additional investments that will enable us to expand through a mixture of acquisitions as well as opening new offices. Our initial focus for this development will be in Benelux, Germany, France and Eastern Europe," said Bongaerts.
Rob has enjoyed a distinguished 24-year career working within a number of well known multinational companies in the logistics and transportation sector. During his previous role, from 2002 to 2010, he was instrumental in the organisations' growth in this region, opening facilities in over 26 locations.
"I want to expand the footprint of MIQ Logistics across Europe by building on the foundation of our UK organisation, which has an excellent reputation in the industry for high service levels and offering true value to their clients.
"Depsite the economy still experiencing some ups and downs, our clients are comforted by the fact that we maintain a solid financial backing, while many of our competitors are struggling.
"This appointment is a unique opportunity for me to be a part of an organisation that understands that being the biggest global logistics company is not what is important. What is important is to ensure that our clients remain at the centre of all we do, while cultivating a passion for continuous improvement, and above all else, building partnerships with each client," said Bongaerts.
