Potter Group Logistics transported the historic Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 German fighter plane for the Yorkshire Air Museum & Allied Air Forces Memorial.
The replica has been on loan to Gateguards Ltd, the UK's premier manufacturer of highly-detailed reproductions of historic aircraft in St Mawgan, Cornwall. The Bf 109 has been transported by Potter Group Logistics back to its permanent location at the Museum in Elvington, York.
Potter Group Logistics picked up the Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 aeroplane from St Mawgan late on the afternoon of Thursday, 4th October and transported it overnight for delivery to the Museum in York on Friday 5th October.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-6 is a replica of the same model that fought during World War Two. One of its infamous pilots was Major (later Colonel) Herman Graf who was an experienced German fighter pilot. He was one of only nine pilots to be awarded the Knights Cross with oak leaves, swords and diamonds.
