Palfinger has unveiled a new compact truck-mounted forklift aimed at transforming urban and retail logistics, with a focus on precision handling and low-emission performance.

The Austria-based manufacturer has completed its FL range with the launch of the FLM 15, a middle-seat model designed to operate efficiently in tight and demanding environments. The machine is tailored to modern logistics challenges, particularly in sectors such as beverages and retail where space, precision and reliability are critical.

Weighing from just 1,420kg without forks and offering a load capacity of 1.5 tonnes, the FLM 15 is among the lightest in its class. Its compact build and responsive controls are intended to improve manoeuvrability in confined spaces, while maintaining the strength needed for heavy-duty operations.

The model has been developed with fragile goods in mind, including glass bottles. Palfinger said its sensitive drive system and optimised wheel design allow for greater control during transport, reducing the risk of damage.

Gerhard Auer, VP Product Line Special Lifting Solutions at Palfinger, said the new addition reflects direct customer input. “We listen to our customers very closely and consistently integrate their requirements into our product development,” he said.

“The FLM 15 is the result: lightweight, efficient and reliable. It combines controlled operation, low weight and maximum availability, making it precisely tailored to the needs of retail and beverage businesses.”

The forklift is also available in a fully electric version, which the company says is particularly suited to environments with strict noise and emissions regulations. The electric model operates almost silently and produces no on-site emissions, making it suitable for indoor use, night-time deliveries and narrow access routes.

Palfinger said the wider FL range now includes both side-seat and middle-seat models, with options spanning diesel and electric power, as well as remote-controlled and box-mounted configurations. The company added that its global sales and service network is designed to provide rapid support and long-term reliability.

Operator comfort and safety have also been prioritised in the FLM series. Features include an elevated central seating position for improved visibility, externally routed hydraulic lines for a clearer view, and protective elements such as a wide roof and reinforced side panels.

Chief operating officer Alexander Susanek said the launch reflects the company’s broader Strategy 2030+ plans. “Solutions like the FLM 15 bring our strategy to life. We are pushing limits, setting trends and translating specific customer needs into smart lifting solutions,” he said.

The strategy focuses on customer-driven innovation, investment and process optimisation, with the aim of delivering long-term value and sustainable growth.

The FLM 15 and its electric counterpart are now available to order across the EMEA region.
