Onward Holdings is promoting several different warehouse options suitable for freight forwarding and food companies needing storage and/or a distribution hub in the north of England, when it exhibits at this year's Multimodal show in April.
The business, which operates quality sites at Ackworth, Castleford, Featherstone, South Kirkby and Scunthorpe, is showcasing over three quarters of a million square feet of warehouse space ready for occupation and within easy reach of the major motorway networks for fast delivery to all parts of the UK, the Humber ports and regional airports.
Typical of these is the Langthwaite Business Park in South Kirkby, near Wakefield, which is close to the motorway network and consists of two large adjacent buildings. The units provide a combined 212,500 square feet of storage (122,800 and just under 90,000 square feet respectively) and a total of 14 loading docks. Impressively, each unit is capable of accommodating when racked up to 24,000 stacked pallets; this makes them suitable for a huge range of delivery related activities including food, electrical, household goods, car parts and agricultural products. Unit 16, which is the larger warehouse, incorporates a host of key e-commerce features including eight dock levellers and four surface loading doors, a 10,000 square-foot loading canopy. There is also generous external manoeuvring and parking areas for support staff, while a £1million investment in security also makes the units suitable for both ordinary and high value products such as watches and IT items.
Due to the proximity of the Langthwaite Business Park to the A1, M1, M62 and M18, the site benefits from excellent distribution connections. It is also close to the railway freight network via the nearby Wakefield Europort, from which 80% of the UK's population is accessible in four hours.
As a further bonus, Wakefield Metropolitan Council is dispensing, subject to finalisation with the West Yorkshire LEP and the Government, grants of up to £10,000 for each new job created on the site. Although the precise terms of how the grant funding will work has still to be finalised, the access to this level of funding should make the site even more attractive to logistics professionals needing to recruit.
Onward Holdings will also be using the Multimodal show to highlight a number of smaller units it can offer elsewhere for logistics operations.
Finally, the business will be promoting its proposed plans for developing a range of modern, secure and compact storage facilities on the outskirts of Scunthorpe. The site is suitable for numerous storage and logistics applications. These include caravans, agricultural products, aggregates, new motor vehicles, machine parts and motor transport. Onward Holdings hopes to offer enclosed units starting at three quarters of an acre upwards. Each will be individually security fenced and have CCTV monitoring.
Onward Holdings director Neil Storey says: "The business is very pleased to be exhibiting once again at Multimodal. We will be promoting a range of options to suit most budgets, together with additional value-added warehouse services. We believe that the different facilities that Onward Holdings is offering have the ability to meet most requirements and will improve the northern supply chain."
All the warehouse units available from the company include 24 hour security and flexible leases, offering the perfect package to help companies maximise their supply chains.
