Norbert Dentressangle is gearing up to press ahead with its business development plans following the overwhelming vote in favour of revised terms and conditions from union employees within its Transport Services division.
A resounding 75% of union members voted in favour of the company offer, which was recommended to its members by the Unite trade union.
The deal establishes a sound platform for Norbert Dentressangle to develop its dedicated delivery operation and shared user network services for a wide range of customers across a number of industry sectors including automotive, manufacturing, chemical and retail.
Deborah Parker, HR Director at Norbert Dentressangle Transport Services, said: "The industry faces a number of challenges and the marketplace is extremely competitive. With the specific changes we have made we are now in a commercially sound position to take these on.
"Both Unite and ourselves were committed to finding a solution and so used the services of ACAS conciliation to ensure that we were able to find an agreement. I'm pleased that the conciliation process brought the matter to a swift and satisfactory conclusion for all concerned.
"We can now focus all our attention on securing our futures and working with customers to ensure transport services are effectively aligned to their business needs and remain flexible so as to quickly accommodate any changes as required."
