Didcot, Oxon: Questor for Windows is a new, user-configurable batch data collection solution for use on mobile devices based on Pocket PC 2002 and Windows Mobile 2003 operating systems. It is designed to enable non-programmers to create their own tailor-made mobile solutions quickly and easily, incorporating such features as bar code data input and signature capture.
The new software is ideal for creating applications as diverse as sales data capture, meter reading, asset tracking, condition surveying, market research, health and safety audits, maintenance logging and many more.
Using the form design module on a PC, Questor applications are built up from a number of steps, each representing an action by the mobile worker. As the design progresses, the application can be previewed on an emulation of the mobile display. When all the steps are completed, the application is ready to download to the mobile device and data collection can begin. Questor applications can run on anything from a PDA or XDA to ruggedised industrial-style terminals.
