IMHX 2016 – one year to go to the UK’s premier intralogistics event

There is now one year to go to IMHX 2016, the essential intralogistics event for supply chain professionals, which will take place from 13-16 September 2016 at the NEC Birmingham.

Rob Fisher, Director of Informa Exhibitions’ Materials Handling Group and IMHX organiser explains: “We are now well on track to host around 450 exhibitors at the NEC next year – making it one of the biggest ever IMHX events ever.”

A free Dynamic Exhibitors’ Day is being held on 13 November 2015, for potential exhibitors and those already booked, where more details of IMHX 2016 will be announced. And there will also be a guest speaker with a difference – Dr Gorkan Ahmetoglu, occupational psychologist and researcher in entrepreneurship.

Dr Ahmetoglu is a Lecturer in Business Psychology at University College London (UCL) and the co-founder of Meta Profiling Ltd., which provides personality profiling in order to identify people with entrepreneurial talent.

“This keynote speech from Dr Ahmetoglu will provide a fascinating insight into influencing the emotional and subconscious brain of the consumer to obtain maximum results in an exhibition environment, which I am sure it will be of real interest to all our exhibitors and potential exhibitors”, added Rob.

Sponsored by leading financial services provider Investec, IMHX 2016 will reflect every aspect of 21st century intralogistics from a dedicated Supply Chain IT Village showcasing the latest logistics and supply chain technology, right through to racking and the latest forklift trucks and materials handling solutions. And as one of the key events of its kind in Europe, it will also be used by many major exhibitors to launch their new product ranges and innovations.

The logistics industry is worth over £93 billion to the UK economy and employs one in twelve of the working population. It is widely regarded as a key barometer of economic health and growth.

James Clark, Secretary-General of the British Industry Truck Association (BITA) comments: “Oxford Economics, which produces annual economic and market analysis exclusively for our members, has forecast UK GDP growth of 2.8% for this year.

“They have also identified 2015 as the year that total shipments of forklift trucks are forecast to return to pre-recession levels for the first time, with total shipments of 30,399 units forecast, representing a growth of 10%. This illustrates just how bright the outlook is for the materials handling business overall”, adds James.

“Space is now becoming a premium and the final date to take advantage of our early bird booking rate for space at IMHX is 30 September, beyond that prices will rise so booking before 1 October makes sense”, adds Rob Fisher.

IMHX 2013 was attended by over 19,500 visitors, with 77% of attendees stating that visiting IMHX would influence their buying decisions – and £94 million worth of orders attributed to buyers visiting the show. Visitor registration for the free-to-attend IMHX 2016 opens at the end of October.
