Gloucestershire's FAB Recycling drives benifits of reusing car parts to heart of Parliament

The head of a Cinderford company has met with influential MPs and Peers to explain the environmental and cost benefits of traceable non-safety recycled car parts.

Jason Cross, Managing Director of FAB Recycling Ltd attended a House of Commons reception showcasing local businesses as the guest of Forest of Dean MP Mark Harper and Baroness Royall of Blaisdon.

Jason described to Baroness Royall, Shadow Leader of the House of Lords, herself from Newnham-on-Severn, how his business My Green Fleet was saving the Government hundreds of thousands providing non-safety recycled parts for Police and emergency fleets.

The company has recently invested £350,000 to enhance its UK hub, has won a prestigious dismantling award, and is currently calling on the car parts industry to better prepare itself for a huge anticipated increase in electric and hybrid vehicles.

FAB Recycling was among 12 high-profile Forest of Dean businesses at the event, which was also attended by Lord de Mauley, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at Defra.

Jason says, “It was a great honour to be asked to be among those representing innovative local businesses and to see the support and understanding for the need for traceable pre-owned vehicle parts growing across all parties."

Mark Harper says, “Jason’s efforts to describe how My Green Fleet was controlling the cost of replacing thousands of damaged emergency vehicles every year went down extremely well, underlining the very real business innovation this region has to offer.”

From its Gloucestershire base the company operates three businesses: FAB Direct, selling to individual motorists and the trade, My Green Fleet and FAB Bundle.
