Bristish companies build on European success

Following last years triumphs at the 2007 European Business Awards held in Brussels, British companies still have the chance of further success in the 2008 competition. The Awards showcase Europe's business skills and competencies to the rest of the world, but companies only have one more month to enter before the deadline for entries on the 18th October.

"European business is innovative and talented and it is important that we showcase examples of this brilliance. For the rest of the world the European Business Awards is an advert of our abilities and for Europe, an example for all of us of what is possible," said Adrian Tripp, Chief Executive of the European Business Awards.

Two British companies were honoured last January: ARM Holdings walked away with The CMS Business of the Year Award and innocent drinks won The Grey EMEA Growth Strategy of the Year Award. Next March, at the European Business Awards 2008 ceremony in Paris, British companies and their achievements will again have the opportunity to shine in the European business arena.

Bill Parsons, Executive VP Human Resources of ARM, winner of The CMS Business of the Year of the European Business Awards 2007 and The National Business Awards 2006 (UK), said: "As a global company based in Europe, we feel very proud that ARM was chosen as the 2007 Business of the Year in the European Business Awards, an award which takes market leadership, innovation, growth and financial return into consideration. It is widely regarded as the leading business award in Europe and we fought some strong competition to win. As a patron this year, we will watch the 2008 awards with great interest; may the best company win."

For winning companies the recognition and exposure is very powerful as the European Business Awards has extended its partnership with The Wall Street Journal Europe and has set collaborations with important national Media Patrons. "Every business day The Wall Street Journal Europe reports on business issues and companies across the region. Our association with the European Business Awards allows us to honour the best of these companies and the vision and energy of their leaders," said Jonathan Wilson, director of marketing and business development, The Wall Street Journal Europe.

The names of the winners will be revealed on 11 March 2008 at the high profile Awards Ceremony held in the InterContinental Paris Le Grand in Paris and attended by Europe's business elite. The entry deadline is 18 October 2007.

The European Business Awards is supported by forward thinking organisations, CMS Legal Services EEIG and Société Générale, which are committed and believe in the growth of European economies.

"Société Générale is pleased to extend its partnership of the European Business Awards this year and fully supports its mission to recognise excellence, best practice and innovation, qualities we equally uphold. We have chosen the category "Customer Focus" which we believe is the key factor of success for businesses around the world today. Through the European Business Awards, we are delighted to recognise companies who also put clients at the heart of their business," says Bruno Bassac, Deputy Head, European Coverage.

"CMS Legal Services EEIG continues to believe in the aims of the European Business Awards. Our firms across Europe work hard each day to help our national and international clients manage profitable businesses. These awards offer a perfect opportunity for us to go one step further and celebrate the most successful and forward-thinking individuals and organisations in Europe," says Robert Derry-Evans, CMS Executive Partner.
