Ardo UK Ltd, Kent based frozen fruit and vegetables producer, is offering customers frozen storage and UK-wide distribution following its investment in state-of-the-art equipment. The comprehensive package includes receipt, handling and despatch being processed by bar code scanning equipment and distribution by a reputable haulier.
The company, part of the Belgian Ardo Group, Europe's largest supplier of frozen fruit and vegetables, has recently invested £15m in a new factory equipped with state-of-the-art processing and packing equipment as well as additional cold storage.
Ardo's Supply Chain Director Jon Barnes, said: "Having all our operations under one roof has resulted in an even more efficient service for customers both here and through the rest of Europe. With the site located on the A20 north of Ashford, Kent, it's within easy reach of the M20 and M25 and is less than 30 minutes from the Channel Tunnel."
"Our location is very convenient, with fast access to the UK motorway network making it ideal both for companies bringing goods in from Continental Europe who require onward distribution and those requiring loads destined for overseas. With current daily volume deliveries to the major UK retailers, we have a comprehensive distribution service already in operation."
There are four fully enclosed loading pods giving perfect temperature control while loading and unloading. The management systems are fully computerised with individual pallet lot control, scanning and temperature control, and with a capacity of 20,000 pallets, the high bay mobile racking ensures a quick and efficient service. With a 24 hour operating service it enables deliveries to be accepted any time of the day or night.
