Equipment rental company A-Plant has successfully retained its Whole Fleet Accreditation (WFA) status under the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS), the accreditation programme which drives best practice across the fleet industry.

A-Plant is the first equipment rental company, and only one of seven companies from over 4,000 firms registered with FORS, to secure nationwide accreditation and the first to renew Whole Fleet Accreditation under the new FORS Standard 4.0. Furthermore, A-Plant has also been made a FORS Champion, whereby the company is promoting the scheme amongst its transport suppliers and encouraging them to become FORS members.

Shaun Winstanley, A-Plant’s Director of Transport Services said: “The successful renewal of our WFA provides our customers with the reassurance that we take transport compliance, safety and environmental protection very seriously. Whole Fleet Accreditation has helped us become safer, smarter and greener by improving vehicles, drivers, management and operations. We have extensive driver training programmes in place and as we have progressed through the new standard, we have trained in excess of 1,100 A-Plant Drivers in Safe Urban Driving.”

FORS encompasses all aspects of safety, efficiency and environmental protection by encouraging and training fleet operators to measure, monitor and improve performance. The scheme was first rolled out to fleet operators based in and around the city of London, but it proved to be so popular it is now open to any company in the UK that operates a fleet of vehicles.
