As a result of feedback from operators of lift trucks, Yale has developed mast-mounted LED driving lights for its counterbalance truck series.
Available on internal combustion and electric trucks the lights have been primarily designed to aid operators that work in areas often deprived of light, such as ISO containers or block stacking applications.
The LED lights are slimline in design and are automatically activated with the front-marker lights. They provide high light output and the proximity to the outer mast cross member reduces susceptibility to damage.
Yale Brand Manager, Steve Ridgway, said: "In most cases, lights are fitted to the overhead guard however, feedback from operators has confirmed that the mast can often obscure light and restrict illumination when mounted in this position.
"Recent advances in lighting have allowed us to introduce the latest LED lights on the mast providing operators with significantly improved forward illumination and the elimination of the majority of mast shadow. The addition of the mast mounted LED lights allows the standard front work lights to be angled providing increased illumination of the load or in the stacking area.
"There is also a safety benefit as the lights help improve truck visibility to other traffic or when operating in areas with pedestrian access."
