Langley-based handling and fulfilment specialist Fairway PSD has taken delivery of a new Samuk R25L from Britannia Fork Trucks.
Offering a lifting capacity of up to 2.5 tonnes, the gas-powered truck is perfectly suited to moving a variety of loads ranging from small boxes to pallets, and will be used to support the company's extensive customer-base, which spans the automotive, travel, drinks, entertainment, financial services and food manufacturing sectors.
The new Samuk is fitted with a triplex mast and will operate inside Fairway's high-storage 100,000 ft2 warehouse within the Langley Business Centre, and is available for operation 24/7 to support the large volume of work undertaken by the company.
Commenting on the new Samuk, Bob MacPherson, Managing Director of Fairway PSD, explains: "We required a truck with a proven record for reliability and exceptional manouvreability, to operate across the warehouse and between our multi-tier storage racking. The Samuk's long service intervals and a great dealer support package were key to choosing the R25L."
As with all trucks in Samuk's latest R-Series range, the R25L offers excellent through-mast visibility, which helps to reduce the possibility of accidents – essential when operating in the close confines of a warehouse environment. The Samuk masts are also up to 30 per cent stronger than competitive designs, thanks to the use of heavy sections and large 120mm diameter rollers.
The R25L will remain with Fairway for its full working life, with servicing carried out by Britannia Fork Trucks, which operate a fleet of highly specified service vans with factory-trained service engineers carrying the most commonly required service parts.
Samuk Lift Trucks Limited is based in Toddington and Peterborough. The company is headed by Sir Neville Bowman-Shaw, the founder of Lancer Boss, and is the exclusive importer of Hangcha Lift Trucks in the UK, sold under the Samuk+HC brand. Hangcha Lift Trucks is the second largest Chinese forklift truck manufacturer, having been making trucks since 1974. The current Hangcha factories can produce up to 40,000 trucks a year and employ over 800 people. The factories are certified as complying with ISO 9001 quality management and ISO 14001 environmental management standards. Development of the company's facilities, which will be complete in 2008, will double its single shift output.
