VDT Tripguard provides cost effective perimiter protection

Video Domain Technologies (UK) Ltd, the leading developer of innovative digital CCTV security solutions, has introduced TripGuard, a new rapid deployment perimeter protection system. It provides a cost effective covert security solution to protect portable assets such as plant and high value metals as well as perimeter locations such as empty commercial or residential properties where people would not normally go.

TripGuard comprises a wireless transmitter containing a 2km reel of fibre optic cable with a thickness of around 50 µm, equivalent to fine human hair. This cable can be rapidly adjusted to any length and positioned to totally eliminate the incidence of false alarms caused by animals or birds. The moment an intruder breaks this cable, an alarm is transmitted to a receiver that can be located up to 300 metres away.

According to Clive Mason, Managing Director of Video Domain Technologies (UK) Ltd: "TripGuard is a cost effective solution that will help to reduce the increasing incidence of theft of high value metals and assets. It is already receiving considerable interest from insurance companies facing mounting claims."

The unit can be quickly reset after activation by heat sealing the fibre optic cable using a match or lighter and refixing the connection. TripGuard can be deployed in any location using either a 12V battery or mains operation and is IP66 rated for use in any exterior environment.

TripGuard can also be used with a flexible range of optional accessories including SMS Express, a self-contained transmitter that sends SMS alerts to up to four mobile phones when the alarm is activated or when its battery charge is running low. SMS Express is independently powered using a mobile phone battery with a life of up to 2 years between charging subject to the number of activations and can be quickly and easily configured using an SD card or by sending the unit an SMS message.

Alternatively, TripGuard can be used with MemoCam DV-Cop, an event-driven digital video recorder that connects to any standard analogue CCTV camera and stores up to 500,000 high quality images on a 4Gb mini SD memory card. It can send SMS notifications along with time and date stamped JPEG images in a range of resolutions including 320x240 for optimum speed over cellular networks.

TripGuard is available for immediate delivery and can be ordered through distributors nationwide.
