Valad scores treble for Houstoun

Demand for small well-located industrial units remains robust, according to specialist asset manager Valad Property Group, which has let three units this year at Houstoun Industrial Estate on behalf Cheshire County Council Pension Fund. The Livingston estate, where Colliers CRE and James Barr are joint agents, has earned a reputation as one of Scotland's key high-tech and distribution centres.

Recent activity sees Airport Logistics relocating to 3,500 sq ft at 2 Kelvin Square on a rental of £15,750 per annum, the building services provider EIC Limited taking 6,529 sq ft at 4F Grange Road (£29,380 pa), and National Tyre Services completing the line-up with Unit 1, Kelvin Square, a 4,070 sq ft facility (£18,318 pa).

Bryce Stewart, director of industrial & logistics with Colliers CRE, commented: "Smaller units in strategically important locations continue to attract a good level of interest from potential occupiers. In particular, Houstoun Industrial Estate's well-established infrastructure and central location means properties in the estate continue to prove popular with national and international tenants."

Steven Muir at Valad said: "These lettings demonstrate there is demand for well located and established industrial units and our flexible approach is key to securing occupiers in a difficult market."

Units ranging from 3,500 sq ft up to 25,000 sq ft are currently available to let and for sale.
