Transport management company awarded Microsoft Silver Partner status

A company that develops and implements technologies to help organisations reduce their transport costs has announced that it has been awarded the status of a Microsoft Silver Partner. 4PL 3t Logistics (www.3t-europe.com), who work with a range of international companies such as JCB and LINPAC Packaging to manage the supply chain more efficiently, received notification that they had received official partnership status this month (January).

"There are some stringent requirements to achieve Silver Partnership status, so we were very pleased when we received approval," explains Steve Gibson, IT Infrastructure and Support Manager at 3t Logistics. "We had to provide evidence to Microsoft of our competency in developing software applications using their developer framework. In addition, members of our information systems team had to attain Microsoft certified professional qualifications, including licensing and marketing assessments."

During the application process, 3t was required to submit one of their applications to Microsoft to undergo their platform ready testing process. The company were delighted to pass the platform ready test for both Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.

"It is great to have the official seal of approval from such a well-respected brand as Microsoft," comments Steve. "One of the many benefits of being a Microsoft partner is that it enables us to control our software licensing costs and also gives us access to the latest editions of Microsoft software."

3t can now display the Microsoft partner logo on their website as evidence of their credibility and high level of IT expertise. The company has developed a range of supply chain software in-house to help organisations gain efficiencies within their global logistics operations. 3t provide services ranging from a systems only SOLO offering through to a fully outsourced CHORUS offering.

Set up in 2000, 3t Logistics has two main administration hubs in Leicestershire and Paris and manages freight lanes in 30 countries across the world. The company oversees all areas of transport operations by reducing empty running, measuring waste in the supply chain and introducing continuous improvement mechanisms.
