Stokvis Tapes award Norbert Dentressangle Transport new distribution contract

Through its ability to provide a comprehensive national delivery service, Norbert Dentressangle Transport Services has secured a new contract with Stokvis Tapes for the distribution of its adhesive products.

Owned by ITW and part of The Performance Polymers Group, Stokvis is the world's largest independent adhesive tape and foam specialist with more than 30 production facilities around the world. With over 3,500 different tape products, the company provides solutions for some of the most difficult applications across a broad range of industries including, medical, aerospace, automotive, construction, paper and graphic, as well as supplying the wholesale market.

Previously, the company's orders were despatched to customers individually using a parcel carrier, but in line with business growth, Stokvis has appointed Norbert Dentressangle to provide more accurate and cost-effective deliveries via its national shared-user pallet network.

The transport specialist collects orders from the UK manufacturing depot in Tring, Hertfordshire, where orders are consolidated onto pallets for next day delivery to key customers all across the UK.

"Our former method of despatching products was no longer suitable for our expanding business model and we required a more cost-effective solution to meet our changing needs," commented Sally Farmer, Manager at Stokvis Tapes.

"Norbert Dentressangle has an established national pallet network and we were more than confident they could manage our increasing volume of orders. As well as reducing costs, the new shared-user operation improves our overall supply chain service to customers."

In addition Stokvis Tapes is benefiting from access to the bespoke SHARP (Shipment Handling and Reporting Program) technology provided by Norbert Dentressangle. The integrated online system enables the company to place orders electronically, which are scanned and tracked in real time to improve operational efficiency and service levels.
