Data logging experts Signatrol has expanded its Spydaq wireless temperature and humidity data monitoring system with the launch of SPYPOWER-APS (Auxiliary Power Supply), which allows the Spydaq base station to continue logging data even through a complete mains power failure.
The new optional SPYPOWER-APS sits neatly underneath the Spydaq base station and provides the power for it via a switch and power sharing circuit. The standard base station power supply unit is then used to supply the APS, which in turn supplies the base station. This means that when there is a total mains power failure the base station starts to work immediately from the power in the APS, The switch-over is seamless, maintaining a fully populated system for up to four days continuous operation with no loss of data.
Spydaq is a low-cost wireless temperature and humidity monitoring system that serves as an affordable alternative to hard wired monitoring systems. It allows users to deploy sensors in various locations and monitor results from a PC, either locally or anywhere in the world via web access with easy to use software.
At the heart of the Spydaq system is a BaseStation which receives data from up to 16 remote transmitters and passes it to a PC either via a Modbus RTU, a USB port or by GPRS direct to the Spydaq website.
