Leading independent commercial vehicle group Sherwood Truck and Van, which has operations in South Yorkshire, is celebrating the winning of a major order with a fleet transport company.
With its strong track record of service, Sherwood, located across the Midlands and with a base in Orgreave, Sheffield, has been asked to supply a total of 22 Iveco Stralis units to Melton Mowbray-based Ritchie Transport Ltd.
Ritchie Transport, part of the United Pallet Network and with clients from the construction industry across to food and retail logistics, placed the order after being impressed by Sherwood's ongoing business support.
Phil Salmon, Group Used Sales manager based at Sherwood's Blackwell, Derbyshire headquarters, said: "We are delighted to receive the order from Ritchie Transport - a well established and well-known transport company.
"This is a substantial order involving 22 vehicles over the coming weeks. Through David Palmer at D & D Transport we became aware that Ritchie Transport required a fleet change. It is testimony to our abilities to provide first class support service that helped clinch the deal."
Ricky Morris, Managing Director of Ritchie Transport Ltd., said: "This is a major order with Sherwood. We were looking for a fleet change using a supplier which could provide reliability and top class support.
"The order fulfils our aim of offering a fleet of vehicles large enough to cope with most volumes, across a range of different sectors," added Mr Morris.
