THE UK's leading vehicle tracking specialist has scooped its second national award of the year.
Navman Wireless, the UK's largest manufacturer of tracking, messaging and navigation equipment for commercial fleet management, was named Best GPS Navigation Company 2008 by the Institute of Transport Management (ITM).
Tony Neill, vice president Europe, Middle East and Africa at Navman Wireless, said: "We are delighted to win this highly coveted award. It is a fantastic achievement for everyone associated with Navman Wireless.
"It goes a long way to showing that we are committed to delivering the best tracking systems on the market."
The Staffordshire-based firm beat competition from some of the biggest names in the industry to land the prestigious honour.
It follows the company's success at the Van Fleet World Honours in May, where it collected the Best Technology Award.
The company has also reached the final of the National Business Awards after winning the Growth Strategy of the Year honour for the Midlands and east of England for the second successive year on July 15.
Patrick Sheedy, of the ITM, said: "We found Navman Wireless's existing range of vehicle tracking systems to be reliable, highly portable, easy-to-use and packed full of detailed geographical and logistical information to make even the most complicated journey a breeze.
"Despite the sophistication of the product, the company believes in keeping technology affordable - meaning that its in-car vehicle tracking devices represent a realistic and sensible choice for the average consumer.
"It is only left for me to congratulate all at Navman Wireless and wish all at the company all the very best for the future." An ITM study found that vehicle tracking can reduce fuel consumption by 15 per cent. Mr Neill added: "Security and savings in the wake of soaring fuel costs have become high on the agenda of every haulier and fleet business in the UK.
"Our systems offer businesses an ideal way to make sure every drop of fuel is used in the most efficient way possible and this award is a great way to recognise our role within the sector."
Navman Wireless, which has office across the world, supplies more than 4,500 companies nationwide.
