Pump manufacturer NOV MONO named preferred supplier by Southern Water

Europe's leading manufacturer of pumps, parts, grinders and screens, NOV Mono, has been named preferred supplier by Southern Water, with its innovative EZstripTM maintain in place pump selected as a standard asset.

Southern Water supplies fresh drinking water to more than one million households and treats and recycles wastewater from nearly two million households across Sussex, Kent, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

Commenting on the new agreement, Southern Water, said: "The decision to award Mono with our preferred supplier status was a joint one across the organisation. Following numerous, successful trials of the new EZstripTM progressing cavity pump, we have decided to select it as our preferred standard asset."

"We can also confirm that Mono will be holding a consignment stock of its Mono Universal Parts for us. Reliability of stock ensures Southern Water customers benefit from both efficiencies in the system and the agreement between Southern Water and Nov Mono."

Mono's EZstripTM progressing cavity pump is the biggest leap forward in progressing cavity (PC) pump design for 30 years and is an extension of Mono's popular Compact C Range. The EZstripTM has been specifically designed to provide a quick and easy way to disassemble, de-rag and maintain a PC pump in-situ, eliminating the costly maintenance and down time that servicing can often cause.

The EZstripTM pump can be installed into new plants or retrofitted into existing Compact C installations. No electrical disconnection is required and suction and discharge pipes remain untouched.

The EZstripTM pump offers dry run protection and all operational parameters are unaffected. The model range has a capacity of up to 165m3/h and 12 bar pressure, and is available in either cast iron or stainless steel. WRAS compliant elastomers are incorporated into the manufacture of this pump and a pre-assembled drive train, with two year warranty, is also available.

Mono's Universal Parts range has been designed to provide a solution to rising pump maintenance and whole life costs. The comprehensive range offers competitively priced, high performance, durable parts that provide cost effective alternatives to branded progressing cavity pump parts.

Manufactured by Mono, parts in the range attract the same warranties and guarantees as parts for the company's own progressing cavity pumps and can be used in seepex, Netzsch, PCM, Allweiler, Robbins & Myers, Bornemann and Orbit pumps.

The range includes rotors, stators, coupling rods, shafts, pins/bushes, seals and drive train assemblies. Fully assembled rotating units are also available as part of the range, which helps to reduce operational expenditure by minimising assembly and installation time, as well as delivering cost savings, because the complete unit is purchased rather than individual components.
