Paragon Extends Beyond Routing and Scheduling

Rebrand Reflects Broader Transport Management Capabilities. Paragon has recently consolidated its position as a leading technology supplier to the logistics industry both in the UK and overseas by expanding its product offering from purely routing and scheduling software, to include wider transport management capabilities, including resource management and transport execution systems.

To reinforce this new advanced offering, Paragon has updated its branding which reflects the importance of these changes to its customer base and broader transport and logistics market.

Latest developments

Following a concerted 18-month period of intense development, Paragon has undertaken three major initiatives:

New Paragon 5.0: The company has launched a major new version of its leading software, Paragon 5.0, which features a total of 59 separate improvements to its already comprehensive functionality. These include: automatic routing enhancements, which take into account different types of resources during the planning process; and regional and directional rush hour congestion functionality which allows different geographic regions to be created with specific road speed reduction profiles by time of day.

Many of these new features are in direct response to requests from its extensive user community and include major advances in such key areas as resource optimisation.

New Modules: The addition of new modules allows Paragon to deliver a complete routing, optimisation, transport management and execution system.

The most notable of these is Resource Manager. This enables companies using Paragon to optimise daily fleet operations in addition to managing the transport resources and allocations necessary to operate such optimised schedules. In addition, Navman Wireless vehicle tracking is now included as part of Paragon's Fleet Controller software solutions, allowing users to intelligently track their vehicles in real time.

Critically, these options are fully integrated with Paragon's routing and scheduling optimisation and intelligence, ensuring that any changes in transport management decisions, driver allocations or route sequences have full visibility in terms of transport viability and optimisation.

New Branding: To underline the importance and far-reaching nature of these developments, Paragon has updated its logo and brand imagery, reflecting the changing nature of its new, broader capability.

Continued commitment

Paragon has an impressive roll-call of long-standing customers, including Tesco, Safeway/ Morrisons, BOCM Pauls, TDG, Panasonic, Wincanton, ACCO, Rosebys, Raleigh and Wavin. More recent customers include Macfarlane Group, Reynolds Catering Supplies, Shoe Zone, Dairy Crest, Bikers Legal Defence and Shepherd Neame and the company's growing international capability is reflected, for example, in such new US customers as Toyota Materials Handling, Lift Off Distribution, Progistix-Solutions and Airgas, Inc.

"As a company, Paragon remains 100 per cent committed to the transport optimisation and execution software market, with more than 25 years' experience and 400+ customers of all sizes using over 1,500 systems around the world," confirms Paragon managing director, Will Salter.

"Much of our success has been built on our willingness and desire to listen to and address customers' evolving requirements," he believes. Today in particular, our clients want transport management solutions that work hand-in-hand with their routing and scheduling systems, so that route viability and transport efficiency are not lost from their operational transport management activities and decision-making.

"The latest version of Paragon, together with the addition of new modules such as Resource Manager, is designed directly to meet this need."
