Norbert Dentressangle has beaten off strong competition to lift the prestigious Innovation trophy at the Asda Supply Chain Excellence Awards held in March.
The award recognises Norbert Dentressangle's contribution in future-proofing the retailer's new recycling and service centre in Bristol which went live in February.
Following a major value engineering exercise, Norbert Dentressangle played an important role in designing equipment and layouts within the facility in order to maximise productivity and operational flexibility and deliver an environmentally and commercially sustainable operation. As a result, the centre is future-proofed to 2030 and incorporates many leading edge innovations and energy saving features which are expected to deliver a 20% reduction in CO2 compared to the rest of the network.
Norbert Dentressangle manages all of Asda's reverse logistics activities in the UK, operating a national network of traywash and recycling facilities, as well as the retailer's national electrical returns centre at Magna Park in Lutterworth.
The award further reinforces Norbert Dentressangle's position as a leader in the provision of value-adding equipment management repair, waste management and recycling services for the retail and manufacturing sectors.
